JEC Powerhouse Re-furbishment - 06 November 2009The Jersey Electricity Company were already in the process of re-furbishing their disused power station when we competed for and won the interior design contract. We demonstrated an innovative use of the proposed atrium space with both a staff breakout area and café zone cantilevered within the space. The JEC’s own offices we located on the top floor to take advantage of the beautiful industrial barrel vaulted roof feature which we re-furbished. The 20,000 square foot of office space was planned with the cellular offices bordering the atrium and open plan areas situated to take advantage of the exterior windows. We designed custom light fittings and selected the furniture to further emphasize the industrial aesthetic and heritage of the building.
