Planning Permission: Our Track Record - 28 January 2009

Over the years Naish Waddington have built-up excellent relationships with both the Planning Officers and the Politicians who control the Planning process.

We have a proven track record in gaining planning consents for often sensitive or controversial projects like the West Park Apartments, office headquarters for HSBC, SG Hambros, Rathbones or Ogier, the Royal Yacht Hotel and many others.

Our success in this field comes partly from our understanding of  the commercial reality that surrounds most large projects, but also from the quality of our designs in the first place. We firmly believe that good design will also ways succeed.

We also understand that time is money. So once a planning applications is submitted, we don't just sit around and wait. We follow things up and check all the submitted information is correct. We recommend consulting with key stakeholders to gain their support and, of course, we proactively chase the application though to the end.

This success is not just 'talk', though- it is measurable, eg:

1.     From April 2008 to February 2009 the average time taken for us to get Planning Permission is under 4 months at 3.8 months.

2.    The projects approved, of course ranged in size and complexity, but 50% of these projects were medium to large in scale, eg. new apartment schemes, commercial developments or significant residential works.

3.    For Building Bye-Laws, our average time from submission to approval is 1.75 months or 7-8 weeks.
